Adam Durrant Rides Pink Board
After beating legend of the waves Kelly Slater last year, Australian surfing sensation Adam Durrant will dedicate the biggest event of his career to the National Breast Cancer Foundation by competing on a pink board at the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast beginning this weekend.
At just 17, Durrant is considered one of the up and coming talents of surfing after claiming various junior world titles and raising a huge global profile. He has received a wild card entry into this weekend's event at Snapper Rocks [Gold Coast] and is hoping to excel when he takes on either Mick Fanning (Tweed Heads, NSW), Taj Burrow (Yallingup, WA) or Slater (Florida, USA).
Adam's unpredictability and the ease at which he makes the impossible seem simple is sure to please the huge local crowd at Snapper Rocks and will have a few of the top seeds watching out for his distinctive pink board which he will compete on throughout the event.

Adam Durrant Signs With Red Bull
Adam is quickly proving to not only to be one of the world's most exciting fresh faces, but one of the most dynamic, and now he's part of the Red Bull family. Want some qualifications? Consider this: He beat Kelly Slater on the Gold Coast last year at the Quiksilver Pro, he won "Best Performance by a Male" at the 2007 SURFER Poll for his high-flying section in Young Guns 3, and his freshly made Sushi Roll and various inverts are upping the ante on above-the-lip surfing.
For the time being "Joyce" is going to be spending his days doing battle on Australia's competitive junior circuit, as well as traversing the planet filming his part for Taylor Steele's follow-up to Campaign.
When it comes to the next generation, Adam Durrant is emerging as Australia's brightest star, and taking into account all he's accomplished, and the fact that even Calvin Klein is begging to put his mug on a billboard, he appears to be on the right path. All this and he still gives his mum a peck on the cheek before he paddles out to surf a heat.
