So here in what people call THE OC (we don't, but they do, what's up with that?), we've been having rain, wind, hail, and yeah, snow down the mountainsides. So we say pfft to the folks that say Southern California has no winter. Anyway, comes today -- this glorious Tuesday morning -- and the sun is out, the temp's running in the 50s, and the surf is good down by the ol' Newport Beach Beach pier.
You want a great breakfast, head to Chili Charlie's by the way. Been there for decades right at the foot of the pier. You want diner breakfast or huevos rancheros, chili omelet (or Eggs Benedict on the weekends), pancakes or whatever, Charlie's will set it down in front of you. Hell, you want foo-foo, you can even get a mimosa if you sit inside.
I'm down at Charlie's this morning and take a peek at the waves and cowabunga, dude! The sets are sweet, the thrashin' is good (even with those nasty oil stations in the background), and youngsters and Neaderthals are doing it on the frothin' dew. Nice, real nice. I shot some pics and vids. They're in the galleries. Check 'em, you might enjoy.
