The south will rise again? When?

Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 07:45 AM PST [General]

As I write this at work, its way to early in the morning for me to be here.  But seeing as the south swell which was supposed to peak this morning is nowhere to be found, I figured I might as well get an early start so I can leave early and hopefully catch something in the afternoon.

Lesson learned? (or mistake repeated for the um-teen millionth time...) The forescasts are never 100% accrurate...  All conditions pointed to a fun little playful south swell peaking this morning.  As I checked 3 spots this morning all I found were a few beaches which appeared to be lakes and that all-to familiar feeling that i could have slept in.

Was the swell origination point to far east in the southern hemi so that point conception blocked all central and northern Cali?  Or is it that the swell hasn't made it here yet?  Or worse yet, it has come and gone...  I vote for #2 cause it still gives me the chance that I may get some waves this afternoon... I'm starting to feel DK's call for the north... well, at least fall is right around the corner and those aren't far away.

If you got any info on the swell hitting somewhere in Cali today let me know... I want to track the conditions against the forecast...
