Anyone see the X-games big air super quarter pipe skate competition last night? I mean how did this guy walk away? Reminds me of why I get my adrenaline rushes mostly on water... while at super high speeds it can feel like concrete, its also very forgiving and soft like powder snow... champaign powder that is....

Okay so I definitely freaked the other day when I thought I was getting spammed... I work for a company in the social networking space and I guess I'm a little too close to the fire on these topics.  In any case, it appears that the person really does exist and is responding to my emails.  So to sean, I apologize if I came off a little harsh at first and welcome you to the community of surfers.  I hope you don't take my protection for this community personally and I hope that some day soon you get surf stoked... It'll change your life bro! 

However, while he does not appear to be who I thought he was, that does not mean they won't be here... stay aware... the time WILL come for us all the heed this call to action and if we're all aware of it now, we'll stop it before it starts... you have the power!

Okay, now I'ma little freaked... I just posted a public blog post and I don't see it on my page or the public blog page.  the reason I'm freaked is that it was about a spammer I think has infultrated our nice beach community here and has plans to spam us all.  (if for some reason it does work, please ignore my freakin... although a new development has arisen)

I recieved a friend request from some one with broken english requestin a friendship and asking where I recommen they buy a board on the east coast.  This wouldn't be strange except that I live on the west coast and it is clearly stated in my profile.  Why would some one ask somebody in San Fran where to buy a board in North Carolina?  Further more, I tried to search for the person in the friend network and their profile does not turn up (sean was the user name).  Maybe becuase its private, but certainly not a person who wants to be found...

I get the feeling that a spammer has openned up shop in our beach community and has the intent of ruining our little positive vibe here.  If anyone else has receive a similar request which they feel is suspect, please speak up and notify the community.  The only way to stop these people to prevent them from having "friends" (or people to spam) or to have the people who run this site delete their membership.  But they are clever, will rejoin, and are good at disguising themselves to built their network again.

We have a nice virtual beach town here and its up to us to stop these people from ruining it.  Again I request if you get a suspicious friend request, check them out first.  Send a reply requesting they verify who they are and make their profile public.  If you get no reply then don't accpet them to be your friend. 

This site is for surfers and those interested in surfering to share their life experiences and grow through the acquisition of knowledge.  And presently there is some one here who does not share our values for harmony.  Just like our beautiful oceans, keep our surf community free of irrotants and unwanted nuisances.

Stop the abuse!  You have the power...

Just wanted to say hi to all those who are on the site.  Just read an inspirational article about back packing/camping/surfing in Northern Cal and i'm itchin to give it a try.  Anyone got any insight, recommendations, interested in going?
