    Fall Out Boy Concert

    Monday, July 2, 2007, 03:52 AM [General]

Ok first things first, did I fall asleep on my question mark key after writing the last blog post because I do not remember doing that. I guess thats what I get for trying to write something sensible at 4am, so this time Im getting a better head start.

So I just got back from seeing Fall Out Boy part of the Honda Civic Tour and it was awesome. It was my first concert and I was totally PUMPED. I mean granted it didnt start out that way. Me and my friend had to wait in line for will call tickets, which if you ever buy tickets off ticketmaster I highly advise paying the $2.50 it costs to print your own ticket rather than getting it at the box office. The wait was so ridiculous, we missed Cobra Starship playing their stuff and had to listen through the gates. Fortunately, I have my way with passing time and dealt with the aggravation by cracking various jokes about the supposed old woman with artheritis that moves at 1mph that was in the box office and may or may not have been sipping back some schnopps explaining her delayed customer service. Somewhere in between doing that and walking back and forth between the front of the line and back because sitting still is not a skill I have yet acquired, I also managed to get a totally free ticket from some kool people. I didnt really need it since our seats were better anyway, but I figured Id hand it off the same way I got it. Unfortunately, there arent many people that go to concerts by themselves so a lone ticket is kinda like driving without gas it just doesnt work, and yes I was going for a snazzier analogy but it just didnt come to me, so I just gave the ticket to a couple that was getting hustled by a scalper and stole his jazz, it was AWESOME.

After like a half hour and hearing Paul Wall coming on stage we finally made it into the ampitheater. Our view was great, we werent like super close but we werent that far either, but I was kinda disappointed that there were seats because I just wanted to stand and rock out, but oh well did it anyway. So whilst scoping out the? surrounding girls, me and my friend totally went straight gangster to Paul Wall cause Im so hardcore yo lol Yeh right. Even now Im still trying to figure out why Paul Wall was touring with Fall Out Boy, Academy Is..., Cobra Starship etc...., not sure who threw them in the line up, but theres a chance they devoured a large amount of methamphetimines that day, just a thought. Academy Is.. came on after Mr. Show me your grill, and though I dont really listen to them they werent to bad. The lead singer may want to tone down the gear though, his pants were so tight, I almost wanted to give him an award for moving in them without chaffing or tearing them, but then again who knows maybe did/does, painful thought. Plus 44 came on after them and I was totally PUMPED, turns out Travis Barker and Mark got back together forming this band, which is totally reminiscent of Blink 182, so if you were a fan of Blink, I definitely recommend checking them out, you will be quite happy. Travis rocked out on the drums and it was an awesome spectacle to watch, hes got mad skill, which Im sure most of you know. Mark was halerious commentating between songs and I was up on my feet when they played some old Blink stuff like The Rockshow. Finally, Fall Out Boy hit the stage with a mad entrance, which if you plan to see them tomorrow, close your eyes hence forth Im spoiling it, they frickin flew out of the bottom of the stage like shot up by a trampoline and sparks shot out around them. It was sweet. Then Pete did some shout outs San Diego and starting Rocking Thriller from Infinity on High. Then, they did A little less sixteen candles, a little more touch me, Takes Over Breaks over and every song was awesome to listen to/watch. Watching Pete doing spins with his guitar, totally amps my adrenaline and makes me just rock the hell out too. Its such a blood pumper. They also had screens in the background, playing edits of the lyrics to the songs and visuals that went with the lyrics, which was pretty kool too. The funniest thing was when they put HappyTreeFriends up on it during Carpel Tunnel of Love, which if you have seen HappyTreeFriends is no PG rating, cartoons beating the crap out of each other. Its so brutal and yet slightly halerious, Id hit their website up for a quick laugh if you can handle cartoon guts flying everywhere, 18 and up only please lol

My favorite parts of the show were Hum Hallelujah, Thks Fr Th Mmrs, and This Aint Scene Its an Arms Race, the pyrotechnics were wicked sweet, the guitar was killer and I was going nuts to the music. I loved it, I just wish I could have been right in front of the stage dancing with the tons of other people, than in the seats section but oh well maybe next time. The woman behind me actually tried to have me sit down during Plus 44, and I was wondering if she knew it was a rock concert, not Mozart at the Hill Auditorium playing a Stradevarious. Seriously lady, where did she think she was? Oh well, luckily, when they played Saturday as their finale, Pete told everyone to rush the stage and I definitely found a way down after jumping some stuff, to get front and center, literally like feet from the band, it was once again AWSOME. The koolest thing was some girl right by me apparently had caught one drumstick that Andy Hurley threw off stage and I saw her clutching it for dear life. She was like 12 years old and I really hope nobody tried to take it from her. Thats a mad sweet souvenier and really kool, so if that girl is out there and ever reads this, I was the guy that stared at the drumstick that you clutched so eagerly with both arms to your chest and contemplated a grab and run for a split second, but didnt do it. You can thank me later, but no really you deserve it and get mad points for being the smallest girl there and catching that. Congrats.

So conclusion, Fall Out Boy Concert AWSOME, Mark from Blink/Plus 44 funny man, and nobody ever tell me to sit down at a concert!

    That is all.

    Peace and Lilah Tov,

    Yair

I wonder if anyone even reads this stuff lol
